Why Hemp?: Hemp
is the perfect fiber for cloth diapers with four times the
durability and absorption of cotton. It also contains
anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties which help prevent
diaper rash. The growth of hemp has less impact on our
environment, requires less labor, and hemp can be reproduced much
faster than cotton.
Washing Instructions: The
hemp fiber naturally has oils that need to be washed before
adequate performance is achieved. These diapers should be washed
at least three times, in very hot water, with 1 cup of vinegar in
the rinse cycle. Diapers can then be used and washed using half
the usual amount of your favorite biodegradable detergent. The
fabric will become more absorbent and will shrink to size, mostly
in length, within the first three washes. *Tumble dry or hang in
the sunlight. Using fabric softeners or bleach can ruin diapers
and possibly harm your child. We advise that they not be used.
Please do not subject Baby Greens diapers to boiling water.
Although made to withstand high temperature, doing so may result
in damaging poly resin snaps and natural rubber in elastic.
*Tumble drying may extend the life of the fibers.
